The school Education in Yavatmal began with the establishment of
“Anglo Marathi School” the first school in Yavatmal (1866)
Mr. Shanker Waaman was the first Principal (1866 to 1871).
The name ‘Anglo Marathi School’ was changed to "Anglo Vernacular School’ in 1884.
Ms. Durgabai was the first Female student in Yeotmal,
In 1868, Anwer Sayyad Imam was the first student from Muslim Community,
Ramsami Bankie was the first student from backward class
Aaiku Tanjaya was the first student from Mahar Community.
In 1878, High School entrance Exams was started.
In 1899 Pre Metric approved
In 1890, first Book Depot was started in school.
Nagar Wachanalaya (that time known as ‘Jubilee Library’) was started in 1887.

 
   Social Activities
Social Club was founded in 1878,
Captain Zenkopasky was the head, the Social Clubs building can be seen behind jail
In 1894 Eklawya Wardhak Samaj was founded, Pruthvigir Gosasavi, Haribhau Kane &
Sreedharpant Mangulkar was the founding member,
In 1902, Pruthvigir Gosavi Started first News Paper “Harikishore Vartmanpatra”
In 1917 Hanuman Akhada Was founded,
In 9th September 1898, Cotton Market Committee Established.
In 19-10-1905, Babasaheb Paranjape inspired people of Yeotmal for use of Swadeshi.
In 1907, D.B Vasudev Tonge Established Handicraft Division.
In 1913, Gorakshan Committee Established.
